PORTRAITS OF YESTERDAY AND TODAY FOR TOMORROW

GALLERY PORTRAITS

Geronimo, Apache Chief
Welcome to Gifts of Art. As your browse our galleries, you will find graphite portraits of diverse subjects that are available for purchase individually or in sets. Collectors of Western Art will discover numerous drawings honoring the Native American People. In this series, the artist has captured a portion of her own heritage. Chief Looking Glass of the Nez Perce, a comrade of Chief Joseph, was Kami's great-great-grandfather. From an early age, Kami Hines has been compelled to draw. When her pencil touches paper today, however, you will observe a God-given talent that is far from raw. A twenty year career in law enforcement gave her yet another gift - extensive training from experts in the field of forensic art. Officially retired, Mrs. Hines now employs her artistic skills to draw the "good guys" as Gifts of Art. Mrs. Hines found she could use the same techniques to draw biblical characters described in scripture that she used to produce composite drawings of "bad guys" from the recollections of victims. Women of the Word is a series of graphite portraits that was prompted by a Bible study of the same name.

COMMISSIONED PORTRAITS

In addition to offering our gallery portraits, we invite you to Commission K. Hines to draw one or several portraits for you personally. Each finished piece is a Gift of Art, but the artistry of Mrs. Hines can be employed to solve problems as well. Have you a collection of family photos that seem to defy display due to varying sizes, shapes and a mixture of color with black and white? Commission Kathleen Hines to transform those photos into Family Heirlooms worthy of prominence in your home. When you are working with a uniform collection of graphite portraits mounted in double white mats, selecting frames to coordinate with your decor will become an easy task. Do you desire such heirlooms, but family members are missing childhood pictures? Many adoptees lack such mementos, and countless photo albums have been destroyed or lost. As a Forensic Artist, Kami engaged the process of age progression to add years to the faces of missing persons. Using these same techniques in reverse, Kami has instigated Age Regression. Commission K. Hines to work backwards from the youngest photo you have to re-create the missing images of childhood. Perhaps your children are pestering you to write your memoirs? Have you become the family historian? Liven up your narrative and genealogical charts with graphite portraits from Gifts of Art. Instead of illustrating yesteryear with faded or damaged photos, commission K. Hines to replace them with authentic drawings that will Restore your Heritage and capture the interest of coming generations. Do you simply want to preserve the shy smiles, impish grins, and bright eyes of your little ones for years to come? In 2004, Kami's three grown daughters requested that she do just that for their Christmas gifts. When Mrs. Hines drew her seven grandchildren; she not only preserved their sweet faces but captured their unique personalities in graphite portraits that will become Family Heirlooms. Commission K. Hines so that you may give such Gifts of Art to your family as well.
